Administrative Application Requirements

Thank you for your interest in the Kelso School District. Please read the following requirements carefully. The main body of the application is to be filled out online and you will submit it electronically. There are a number of supplemental items which must be submitted separately in order for your application to be complete (see below). Careful attention to the application and to providing all of the information requested is the most important first step in applying for any position. Everything you wish to have considered needs to appear in the application. Remember you are competing with all other applicants for available positions. Submission of the online application makes you an active candidate; however, in order for your application to be complete and considered for open positions all supplementary information must have been received. You will receive e-mail notification when your application is considered “complete.”

Applications will not be kept active beyond one year from the submission date, unless renewed and/or updated by the applicant.

Position openings are posted on this online application system as well as through our web site: http://www.kelso.wednet.edu

To use the Online Application to apply for an administrative position in the Kelso School District follow the procedures listed below. (You may wish to print these procedures for quick reference.)

IN ORDER FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETE, WE NEED THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

  1. Employment Application Form. Click on Application and complete each of the sections beginning with Base Info. Fill out the remaining sections on the Application Menu including Degrees, Certificate/License, Skills, Experience, Preferences, and References. When completing the Experience section please include your teaching and administrative experience as part of your employment history.
  2. Inserts. There is an insert in the Inserts section called "Administrative Reference Form" (Admin Ref).  This form must be completed by all applicants. Clicking on print to the right of the name of the form opens the document; print and complete the document.  Please note that you must print off 4 of the Reference Forms to send to individuals for completion, and the District must receive at least 2 forms in order for your application to be complete. Sign and have the forms sent to the Human Resources Department. Also you must send the information requested in items 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 below to the Human Resources Department. Applicants are advised that they will be subject to all certification regulations as well as state background checks. When an offer of employment is made, new employees must complete a background check for criminal history, including a fingerprint check, by the State and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), as well as a current written disclosure of specified criminal convictions and civil or disciplinary board findings. Any offer of employment is conditional upon the successful outcome of the criminal history background check and approval by the District's Board of Directors.
  3. General Cover Letter. Prepare a general cover letter stating the position(s) in which you are interested, your qualifications for the position(s), and include why you wish to work for the Kelso School District.
  4. Current Resumé. A resumé of your work experience, education, certifications, and special skills should be included. This will help to “fill in the gaps” left by the District application.
  5. Letters of Recommendation or College Placement File. A placement file from your college or university or a minimum of three letters of teaching/administrative-related recommendations is required. If your placement file is more than three (3) years old, it is suggested that you submit three (3) current letters of recommendation, either in conjunction with your placement file or instead of your placement file.  Your application is considered incomplete without it/them. Request your college placement service send the file directly to the Human Resources Office.
  6. Copies of College Transcripts. Transcripts are helpful in the screening process and are not normally included in your placement file. (Official transcripts will be required upon employment.)
  7. Copy of State Administrative Certificate. If you have not received your certificate, indicate when you expect to receive it and submit a copy immediately upon receipt.

Upon completion of your application, you can click on Summary and review and print a copy of your application. When you are ready to submit your application, click on Submit Application.  You will then need to complete the Disclosure Form and type YES in all caps. Then click on Confirm Disclosure Statement. You will then need to read the Certification, Authorization and Release and type YES in caps if you agree. Then click Submit Application and your application will be submitted.
